Having sold my last piece of Stained Glass on Monday at Covent Garden Market (see previous post 'Dead Pope Saves the Day') I took a little trip to see my supplier. Although he had a few pieces, he needs to check prices before I can pick them up, leaving me with a bit of a hole in my stall.

Although my supplier usually deals in Architectural Antiques, he often has quirky other items, so I always have a good root around his shop in West London, and this piece caught my eye as the sunlight shone through it.

I am no connoisseur of sculpture, although I know what I like, and the sensuous feeling of movement and the luxuriant glean of the Jade and Crystals contrasted with the petrified wood gave me goose bumps!

I was unaware of the Canadian Artist, Lyle Sopel before researching this piece, and for your information I have included the link to his website above.

Listed as among collectors of his work are President George H.W. Bush, His Royal Highness, The Aga Khan, and the Duke and Duchess of Westminster to name but a few.

Come along to Old Spitalfields Market on Thursday 17th October and view this magnificent piece.
